Pruftechnik are manufacturers of a range of laser alignment systems, condition monitoring equipment and eddycurrent inspection equipment.

In 1980, they introduced to the market the world’s first laser alignment system for installation and monitoring of the alignment of rotating machines. The product called OPTALIGN subsequently became the industry standard for rotating machine shaft alignment. Over 10,000 systems have been supplied world wide with over 1,000 users in the UK. In developing OPTALIGN, Pruftechnik have become one of the world’s leading companies in the development of laser technology.

Pruftechnik hold over 100 patents for systems associated with laser alignment equipment. They have developed a range of unique sensors and laser systems that can automatically measure offset and angular displacement in 5axis’s. To support the laser and sensors the Company has designed and built hand-held industrial computers which withstand extremes of temperature and industrial environments. Condition Monitoring Systems

Pruftechnik have developed in parallel with laser alignment a range of systems for the condition monitoring and analysis of rotating machines. The concept of the product development of the condition monitoring systems is to have complete integration and upgradeability of all systems from a basic introduction system to full on-line monitoring systems.

The Company holds patents on more than 70 inventions for condition monitoring systems, transducers, software and data collection techniques. The system called VIBCODE, introduced in 1994, is the only system which completely guarantees that all measurements taken on machines are completely repeatable and free from operator error or misinterpretation. The system finger prints each measurement location with a unique code, this code contains machine location, identification and the measurement parameters which are to be taken. The operator of the system needs no previous experience in machine condition monitoring or specific knowledge of the plant. The VIBCODE system is the first element in the product cycle which includes hard wired systems, FFT data collectors and machine analysers. Pruftechnik manufacture a range of Eddycurrent inspection systems for evaluation and statistical process control of tube, wire and strip products. Pruftechnik Repair and Calibration

The Lichfield HQ of Pruftechnik Ltd is the authorised repair centre for Pruftechnik products sold in Europe. Full NAMAS calibration and certified repair of systems is carried out at the UK offices.
