BILLETCHEK was designed
especially for detecting cracks in the corners of
billets with a square profile. The billet is guided on
rollers between four special corner probes. To allow for
billet deformations such as warping and twisting, the
probes are pneumatically suspended in a spring loaded
frame that moves with the billet. After inspection, the
billet passes through a 4-point paint marker that marks
defects identified by the EDDYCHEK® 4 eddy
current inspection system. Test results are fully
documented.
